Tennessee Gangway Kit Project

We sold this gangway system to Patrick in Tennessee. He already had a floating dock but needed to replace his gangway. The gangway was 24’ long and 4’ wide with a live load capacity of 1,000 lbs. Patrick needed to have an especially lightweight gangway to allow his existing floating dock to support it. The frame of his 24’ gangway weighed only 231 lbs. Patrick also chose treated plywood as decking to keep the finished weight down to around 400 lbs. The system was installed on a river in Tennessee.

Patrick assembled the gangway frame in his garage. He moved it out and set it in place before attaching the decking. Two people could easily handle the 231 lb. frame. He set the gangway on the shore and tied it off to treated posts. Once the gangway was in place and bolted to the shore, Patrick laid out his plywood and screwed it down. Patrick finished up the gangway in one weekend and is happy with his system.
